A commitment to excellence in Water Safety and Rescue

I am an experienced and enthusiastic expert in the field of water safety and rescue. With over five years of lifeguarding experience (including open water, deep and shallow water) and twenty five years of prehospital emergency medicine and rescue experience- including 17 years as a Paramedic- my extensive knowledge, experience and expertise proves a valuable addition to any water safety and rescue environment.

Additionally, with extensive formal and informal leadership education and experience, combined with almost thirty years of mentoring and instructing experience, I am well suited to lead and develop a team of professionals to create the ultimate water safety environment.

Having instructed a plethora of subject matter topics over an approximately thirty year period, I am well prepared to lead others into achieving excellence. Subjects I have extensively instructed include- but are not limited to- numerous emergency medical care topics (including adult medical emergencies, traumatic emergencies, pediatric emergencies, cardiac, neurological, respiratory and obstetrical care, tactical field trauma and medical care, wilderness medicine and more), lifeguarding and water rescue (open water, deep water, shallow water), leadership skills, training-the trainers and more.

As a lifelong learner, I never cease my pursuit to accelerate my personal and professional growth. To that end, I continuously seek learning opportunities, both by way of traditional education, life and professional experience, and self study. Current educational pursuits include being a student at the University of Central Florida where I am completing requirements for a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication & Conflict Management. Additional learning currently being acquired by reading various published works in leadership and communication, and management.
